Who can apply?
The Growth Manager – Banking is responsible for driving Vega IT’s growth within the banking and financial institutions sector across Serbia and the wider regional market (Western Balkans, CEE). This is a dual-motion role: you will hunt for new banking clients while also managing and expanding existing relationships — ensuring banks we work with continue to grow their partnership with Vega IT over time.
This role requires deep familiarity with how banks operate — their procurement processes, decision-making structures, regulatory constraints, and technology priorities. You either know this world from the inside (having worked within a bank) or you’ve spent years selling into it. Either way, you can hold a credible conversation with a CIO, a Head of Digital, or a compliance officer without needing a translator.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Identifying, developing, and closing new business with banks, savings banks, and other financial institutions across Serbia and the region.
- Managing and growing existing banking client accounts — identifying expansion opportunities, ensuring delivery satisfaction, and deepening Vega IT’s footprint within each institution.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior decision-makers within banking clients: C-suite, IT leadership, digital transformation, compliance, and operations.
- Conducting sales presentations, discovery sessions, and negotiations tailored to the specific context of banking procurement and technology investment cycles.
- Managing the end-to-end sales process for new banking clients, and the ongoing account management lifecycle for existing ones.
- Collaborating with Vega IT’s delivery, technical, and domain teams to formulate proposals and ensure client expectations are consistently met post-signature.
- Staying current on banking regulation (NBS directives, PSD2/PSD3, DORA, Basel frameworks) and technology trends (core banking modernization, open banking, AI in FSI) relevant to client conversations.
- Understanding the competitive landscape — knowing which vendors and integrators are active in Serbian and regional banking — and positioning Vega IT’s offer effectively.
- Representing Vega IT at banking and fintech industry events, conferences, and forums in the region.
- Maintaining accurate and timely client information, pipeline, and forecast data in Apollo and Salesforce.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience operating in or around the banking sector in Serbia or the broader region - either as a technology sales professional with banks as your primary client base, or as someone who worked inside a bank (in IT, digital, operations, or transformation) and has since moved into a commercial or partnership role.
- Domain credibility is non-negotiable: you need to understand how banks think, plan, and buy.
- Strong understanding of the Serbian banking landscape - the key institutions, their strategic priorities, procurement structures, and the regulatory environment they operate within.
- Familiarity with technology domains relevant to banking clients: core banking systems, digital channels, data & analytics, AI/ML applications, cloud infrastructure, or system integration.
- Proficiency in English at the C1 level (both written and spoken). Serbian language fluency is required.
- Proven ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with senior stakeholders in regulated industries.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable owning both new business targets and existing account growth metrics.
- Ability to travel to client sites, events, and meetings within Serbia and the region.
Based in Belgrade or Novi Sad.
