Building a platform that gives experts visibility beyond closed networks

The client created a platform designed for verified experts to share knowledge and be visible beyond closed professional networks.

Positioned as an expertise platform, it enables experts to publish fact-based insights, build authority, and generate economic value from their expertise. This innovative platform combines elements of LinkedIn, Wikipedia, and social networks, offering advanced verification methods that mix human review with AI.

The client wanted to build an ambitious platform that would give experts a stage to showcase their knowledge and credibility. The idea was to bring together several features in one place. This includes verified profiles, searchable content indexed by search engines, endorsement-based credibility, and subscription tiers for both individuals and businesses.

The first version of the product was built in WordPress, but the scope and complexity soon demanded a more scalable solution.

The main challenge was to turn many innovative but technically demanding ideas into a working product. This included advanced categorisation of experts, secure data management, payment integrations, and a seamless user experience for both logged-in and public visitors. That is exactly where the client needed a reliable digital transformation partner, and we stepped in to bring structure and technical expertise to their idea.

We worked on both the front end and the back end of the software. Some of the key features we delivered include:

- profile and content management that allows experts to create profiles and manage their content;

- the public view functionality, where visitors can explore expert profiles, read published content, and view endorsements without even logging in;

- the LinkedIn integration that allowed users to import their data and posts;

- endorsements that helped experts build authority and attract new users;

- stripe integration to enable subscription tiers with access to premium features;

- an AI assistant that supported users in writing and optimising their knowledge claims;

- a complex categorisation system based on location, discipline, and occupation, built with multiparent structures to allow users to find experts through specific and dynamic groupings

The client’s vision of combining expertise, credibility, and visibility is now reflected in a functional platform. With our support, they moved from concept to a working product that gives experts a clear and trusted space to share knowledge.
