2025 rewind: Built on people, driven by purpose

As we get ready to close down 2025, it feels natural to take a moment to pause and look back.
Not just at what we did, but at what it brought to us.
If we had to describe this year in a few words, they would be:
Bonding, sharing, caring, and growing. Together.
Vega IT across borders
This year, our journey once more crossed borders and brought people closer.
We officially celebrated the opening of our Riyadh office, marking an important milestone in Vega IT’s global growth. Standing in one of the world’s fastest-growing digital hubs reminded us how far we’ve come and how much more there is to build together across the MENAT region.
In Amsterdam, we hosted an inspiring evening with the Dutch-Serbian Business Association, where our co-founder and CEO, Saša Popović, shared Vega IT’s origin story.
We talked openly about entrepreneurship, leadership, challenges, and the reality behind “overnight success”.
This event also served as an opportunity to showcase Saša’s book Breaking the Overnight Success Myth, which brought Vega IT’s story and entrepreneurial journey to an even wider international audience.

And in New York, we brought the community together on a rooftop, proving once again that while the views were stunning, it’s always the people who make the moment special.
Different cities. Same values. Same openness.
Giving back to the community, with all of our hearts
Community impact remained at the core of everything we do.
Through Code for a Cause 7, charity bazaars in Niš and Novi Sad, humanitarian races, awareness campaigns, and initiatives led by the Vega IT Foundation, we continued to support causes that matter deeply.
After a year and a half pause, Code for a Cause 7 brought us back together in June 2025.
Thirty of our engineers joined forces with three non-profit organizations to build digital solutions that make a real difference.
This year, we supported:
- Pruži Korak – turning steps into donations for children battling cancer
- Autonomni Festival Žena (AFŽ) – amplifying women’s voices through art, education, and community
- Ruka Šapi – helping stray and abandoned animals find safe, loving homes

Across our offices, colleagues also showed up for health and awareness initiatives. In Niš, we ran in races supporting women fighting breast, gynecological, and thyroid cancers. In Podgorica, we joined the Race for the Cure, raising funds for medical equipment for the Institute of Oncology at KCCG. In Novi Sad, together with the “Žena uz ženu” association, we organized free preventive medical check-ups. Because prevention, care, and early detection can truly change lives.
Even the smallest actions made an impact. In London, we joined Send and Duchenne UK for a holiday-themed activity at Lloyd’s of London, where we packed over 600 gingerbread biscuits and shared them with passersby. Each biscuit served as an entry to a festive game, and for every participant who scored 10 points or more, we donated £5 to Duchenne UK. Through this initiative, we raised £1,000 to support the charity’s mission to accelerate research and bring treatments to patients living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
We also organized humanitarian bazaars in Novi Sad and Niš, where our colleagues prepared a variety of homemade treats, from savory dishes to sweets, and donated all collected funds to Dečije selo, Anđeli severa, and Centar Zvezda, helping provide holiday gift packages for children. Through this initiative, we raised and donated over 600.000 RSD, turning care and togetherness into moments of joy.
Alongside our humanitarian initiatives, we continued investing in sustainability through the Green IT Challenge. Nearly 150 colleagues chose to walk or bike to work, turning everyday steps into real impact, supporting tree planting, reducing emissions, and proving that small habits can drive meaningful change.
Vega IT Foundation in numbers
By the end of the year, our collective efforts resulted in meaningful financial support for individuals and associations, but more importantly, in showing up with empathy, consistency, and heart.
In 2025, we:
- Participated in 5 external humanitarian events (races, tournaments)
- Organized 6 of our own humanitarian initiatives (bazaars, VegAI final event, Green IT Challenge, Caravan)
- Donated to 6 associations
- Provided direct support to 6 individuals
Collectively, we raised over 3 million RSD.
Knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and support
At Vega IT, growth is never just about technology.
Throughout the year, we invested time and energy into lectures, workshops, mentorship programs, and internal learning initiatives. Our colleagues delivered internal lectures covering topics from AI-powered ETL automation to SQL query performance and execution plans, grounding every session in real project experience and practical insights.
Learning also took place within our offices through hands-on workshops such as “Yellow Lights,” where our colleague Maja Božić shared practical negotiation techniques, encouraging open discussion, active participation, and a deeper understanding of how to navigate complex situations both at work and beyond.
We also brought knowledge beyond our walls through faculty lectures on Project and Product Management in IT, sharing real-world experience with students and opening space for meaningful conversations about career paths and professional growth.
Initiatives like Ask the Experts created a safe and informal environment where questions were welcomed, curiosity was encouraged, and honest conversations took center stage, allowing participants to openly discuss challenges, gain practical advice, and connect directly with colleagues who shared their experience.
Through the “We Believe in You” Mentorship Program, five exceptional students became part of a fully funded scholarship initiative supported by book sales from our co-founder. Beyond financial support, the program offered mentorship, workshops, and guidance, creating space for young people to grow, explore their potential, and believe in themselves.
Innovation driven from within
Some of the most exciting moments of 2025 came from ideas born inside our teams.
Through the VegAI competition, colleagues explored AI-powered digital twin prototypes, pushing boundaries and proving that AI works best when it accelerates ideas, not replaces people.
At the same time, Vega IT+ showed what happens when initiative meets trust. Built by our colleagues, this internal app made company perks easier to access and quickly became a tool used by nearly 70% of our team. A simple idea turned into a solution that improved everyday work life.
Culture lives in the details
We celebrated International Women’s Day, opened our doors to creativity with the LEGO exhibition in Novi Sad, and welcomed families and little ones into our spaces.
Creativity also had its moment.
Our second LEGO exhibition at Radnički brought colleagues, families, and the wider community together for a weekend filled with imagination, laughter, and thousands of bricks, reminding us how powerful creativity can be when it brings people closer.

And as the year came to an end, our youngest stars received their holiday gift packages, a small gesture that carried a lot of joy.
Because culture isn’t built only through big milestones, it lives in shared moments, laughter, care, and attention to detail.
Looking ahead
2025 proved that lasting impact is built through consistency, authenticity, and shared values.
We’re closing the year grateful for every conversation, every initiative, every shared effort.
And excited for everything that lies ahead.
Here’s to another year of growing, caring, and building, together.
