Role purpose

We are seeking a senior Sales Account Director to lead and grow key UK client partnerships, working closely with our London-based leadership team to drive strategic account expansion and ensure outstanding delivery. This role is central to strengthening long-term client relationships and accelerating Vega IT’s continued growth in the UK market.

About the role

This role is central to the growth of Vega IT’s rapidly expanding UK office, which has already doubled in size from €13M to €27M. You will focus on expanding and strengthening existing client partnerships, working closely with two former management consulting partners who established the UK office in January 2024, as part of a lean, collaborative, high-impact team.


You will take full ownership of key UK accounts, acting as a trusted partner to understand client goals, identify opportunities to add value, and ensure successful project outcomes. Working with Vega IT delivery teams – primarily based in Serbia and Montenegro – you will oversee delivery to high standards, ensuring alignment with client expectations and creating tangible business impact.


This is a hands-on role that combines senior-level client engagement with active support for both client initiatives and internal team efforts, balancing strategic account management with operational tasks.While based in the UK, you will collaborate closely with sales and marketing colleagues in Belgrade and Novi Sad to shape account growth plans, support targeted opportunities within existing clients, and contribute to the sustainable growth of Vega IT in the UK market.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own and grow key UK client accounts by building trusted, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders and acting as a strategic partner.

  • Identify and shape opportunities to create additional value within existing accounts, working closely with clients and Vega IT delivery teams.

  • Define and execute structured account plans and long-term strategies that align client goals with Vega IT’s capabilities.

  • Act as the bridge between clients and delivery teams, ensuring smooth collaboration, clear communication, and successful outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Translate client business objectives into actionable initiatives, aligning priorities, scope, and expectations with both clients and internal teams.

  • Lead senior client meetings, align on action plans, and ensure accountability for delivery and overall client satisfaction.

  • Proactively monitor and manage risks, track key metrics, and anticipate client needs to maintain high satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership success.

Experience and qualifications:  

Minimum of three years of experience covering:

  • Digital business development and/or
  • Digital/client account management and/or
  • Digital agency, technology services, or management consulting delivery
  • Understanding of business models across multiple domains, with a strong advantage for candidates familiar with Insurance, Finance and Banking, Healthcare, Retail, or Education.

Prior to IBM, Richard was a senior partner at Infosys Consulting and Atos Consulting (formerly KPMG Consulting), where he led global business units. He holds a BSc in Applied Chemistry and an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management.

His work in digital strategy is highly commended by the UK Management Consultancies Association, and Nikola was named one of the top digital consultants in the UK. He holds an MEng in System Engineering from the University of Manchester, an MSc in International Business from Manchester Business School, and has completed a year long Executive Education at HEC Paris.
