Reimagining fintech in the age of AI: Insights from our London roundtable
AI isn’t coming for fintech - it is already here. Last week’s London roundtable brought together fintech leaders for a candid discussion on where AI is creating real value and where it’s just noise.

How will AI reshape the future of banking, payments, and insurance?
Which players will thrive, and which ones will be left behind?
These were some of the questions explored at Reimagining Fintech in the Age of AI, a roundtable event hosted by Vega IT and Infused Solutions in London on October 2, 2025.
Held at the vibrant SUSHISAMBA, the event brought together fintech and technology leaders to exchange views on how AI is changing strategy, products, operations, and governance across financial services.
Moderated by Nikola Prelevic (Executive Partner at Vega IT), the discussion brought together Nebo Djurdjevic (Executive Partner and CSIO at Vega IT), Ahsan Iqbal (Founder and Director at Infused Solutions), Harvey Moran (Managing Consultant at Infused Solutions), and Stephen Stanton-Downes (Founder and Managing Director at BridgingX and FindingX). They led a thought-provoking conversation with fintech leaders exploring how AI is reshaping financial services in practice.
Key takeaways from the meetup
The roundtable covered a wide range of topics, from strategy and innovation to governance and talent. Attendees discussed how AI is shifting value pools within financial services and which business models are best positioned to succeed in an AI-driven world. A significant part of the discussion focused on how AI is transforming the customer experience, from onboarding and personalisation to cross-selling and support, and how financial institutions can balance automation with the essential human touch.
Another key area was operational transformation. Participants explored how AI can improve efficiency and accuracy in internal processes, where human-in-the-loop models still play a vital role, and what it takes to build organisations that are both data-driven and adaptable.
The group also delved into some of the most pressing challenges of AI adoption, including capability gaps, governance, and explainability. Many shared their experiences of building frameworks to ensure responsible AI use and discussed how to manage the risks of hallucination, bias, and overreliance on automation.
After an engaging discussion, the evening continued with networking drinks, where guests continued the debate in a more relaxed setting.
A big thank you to our fintech and tech community in the UK
At Vega IT, we believe the best ideas happen when smart people sit down and speak openly - not about hype, but about what’s really working.
This roundtable showed exactly that: curiosity, challenge, and collaboration in action. We’re grateful to everyone who shared their perspectives and helped push the conversation about AI in fintech forward.
