What is the Abuja Tech Challenge?
The Abuja tech challenge is a competitive program that brings together talented individuals from across Nigeria to solve real-world technology challenges, collaborate with peers, and demonstrate their problem-solving abilities.
Participants will progress through several stages, with top performers advancing to the final rounds.
Stage 1: Qualification Challenge
July 17–19, 2026
- Participants will receive an individual challenge on Friday morning and have until Monday morning to submit their solution.
- Successful participants advance to the Hackathon stage.
Stage 2: Hackathon
July 25-26th, 9AM - 5PM
Selected participants will work individually to tackle a complex challenge, pushing their technical boundaries and showcasing their unique problem-solving abilities.
What to expect:
- Individual challenge: Put your standalone skills, speed, and creativity to the ultimate test.
- Mentorship and support: Direct guidance from senior industry professionals during the challenge.

Only the strongest participants move forward to the final stage.
Stage 3: Assessment & Evaluation
Finalists will complete a series of online assessments designed to better understand their:
- Motivation
- Cognitive abilities
- Problem-solving style
This stage helps identify the most promising candidates for future opportunities.

No. We encourage anyone with relevant skills, curiosity, and motivation to participate.
Partially. The qualification task can be completed remotely from anywhere. However, the final hackathon itself will be conducted entirely in person at our offices in Abuja. Attendance on-site is mandatory for the finals.
Yes, absolutely! We encourage the use of AI tools to boost your productivity and innovation. Just make sure the final solution is your own functional project and that you can explain how your code works.
The Qualification task will be evaluated based on a predefined scoring system, with each section carrying a certain number of points. The total score will determine which participants advance to the Hackathon stage.
During the Hackathon, participants will receive a new challenge that will also be evaluated using a scoring system. Final rankings and winners will be determined based on the quality of the submitted solutions and the points earned.
All stages of the competition are completed individually. Participants are expected to work independently and submit their own solutions.
